Temporary changes to TfL’s Congestion Charge – A reminder

A 30% increase in the congestion charge was introduced by Transport for London (TfL) on June 22nd and applies from 7am to 10pm, seven days a week (except Christmas Day) in what has been described as a temporary change.

Drivers now have to pay £15, rather than the previous £11.50, to enter the congestion zone, while its hours of operation have been extended by four hours a day and now also apply at weekends, for the first time.

The temporary changes will be kept under review by TfL to ensure they remain effective in light of the transport challenges created by the coronavirus pandemic.
