Lockdown Update


Days Fleet continues to be fully operational during the current lockdown.  The majority of our staff are still working from home with a skeleton staff attending the office to deal with the paper-based documentation we receive such as fixed penalty notices and DVLA notifications.

We have been using Microsoft Teams for over a year now so are grateful that we had implemented this system prior to the first lockdown last March.  Teams has been hugely beneficial and has created clear, efficient lines of communication between staff and facilitated meetings between us and our clients and suppliers.

Success on tender frameworks


We are pleased to announce that we have been successful with a number of tenders in recent months across multiple frameworks including Crown Commercial Service, National Procurement Service, Halton Housing and Link for both public sector opportunities whilst also securing corporate contracts, including:

  • A housing association in South Wales
  • A civil engineering firm in the Midlands
  • A local authority in London
  • A local authority in Scotland
  • A housing provider in South East England

The growth of electric vehicles


Days Fleet have witnessed the emergence of electric vehicles first hand with a 110% increase in the number of electric vehicles delivered to our client base between 2019 and 2020.    Electric vehicles have been especially strong in the commercial vehicle market with a large number of clients choosing these vehicles for their fleet.

We are happy to support and advise our clients on vehicle choice and can now assist with the installation of vehicle charging via our newly appointed preferred partner – ‘Pod Point’.    December 2020 saw the launch of ‘green’ vehicle number plates which features a green flash down the left-hand side, with only fully zero-emission vehicles eligible. Hybrids and plug-in hybrids are therefore not allowed.  The government hopes the move will raise awareness of the growing number of zero-emission vehicles on the roads, as well as helping motorists benefit from local initiatives such as cheaper parking and cost-free entry into zero-emission zones.

The plates can be retrofitted to existing zero-emission vehicles so should you wish to order any for your vehicle please contact [email protected].

New electric vehicles from Days Fleet will be delivered with green number plates.

App Development


Days Fleet currently has a driver app available free of charge to all clients which can be downloaded here.  However, as part of our continuous improvement programme, we are looking at developing the functionality and use of the App and would be really interested to hear our client’s suggestions on what would be useful to have added to it.

New members of staff


We’d like to introduce new members of our Client Services Team – Kelsey Allen and Shaunice Stone.

Both have joined us as we continue to improve on the levels of service we offer to our clients and will be looking after in life services we offer such as Flexi Hire, Driver Licence Checking, Accident Management and Telematics as well as assisting clients with their fixed penalty notices, vehicle write off’s and any requests for data we hold.

Kelsey was previously Office Manager for a medical supplies company so is well used to managing clients and the delivery of a service and Shaunice joins us from leasing and fleet management company, Kinto, so brings industry knowledge and experience to the role.

We wish them both well as they embark on their career with Days Fleet!

Everyone at Days Fleet would like to say a huge congratulations to our Purchasing Supervisor, Lauren Rolfe and her husband Nick as they recently welcomed their first child.  Florence Sophia Rolfe was born 18th January weighing 7lbs 2oz.

Meet the Team 


Meet Kate John – Client Services Supervisor.

Kate John heads up our Client Services Team who manage all in life services and queries and has been with Days Fleet for nearly 7 years.

  1. What does the Client Services Team do?
    The Client Services Team handles everything that falls within the life cycle of a contract with the exception of vehicle maintenance.  This includes things such as fixed penalty notices, data requests, Flexi Hire and all of the other ancillary services we offer to our clients such as Driver Licence Checking, Telematics and Accident Management.
  2. What do you enjoy most about your role with Days Fleet?
    I enjoy the relationships that I have built with our clients over the years.
  3. What has been the most challenging part of working from home during the last year?
    Definitely interaction with colleagues!  Microsoft Teams has been a fantastic way for us all to communicate with each other but I really do miss the office banter and social interaction.
  4. What would you like to achieve in 2021?
    We have recently expanded the Client Services Team by employing two new members of staff and my aim is to be able to grow the services we are able to offer to our clients and the overall ‘in-life’ experience.
  5. What’s the first thing you’d like to do when restrictions are lifted?
    Once it is safe to do so I can’t wait to meet up with family and friends, and celebrate all the occasions we’ve missed out on previously.
