What is included in a maintenance contract?

When will my vehicle require an MOT?

Your vehicle will not require an MOT until it is three years old. Please note that minibuses require an annual MOT. For further information on MOT’s and vehicle testing, please click here.

You can book an MOT by:

  • Calling DriverLine on 0845 296 4423 and selecting Option 2
  • Visting the ‘Book a service, repair or MOT’ section of our Driver App

How do I book a service, repair or MOT?

If your vehicle contract includes maintenance, services and repairs can be organised by:-

  • Calling DriverLine on 0845 296 4423 and selecting Option 2
  • Visting the ‘Book a service, repair or MOT’ section of our Driver App
  • Accessing the ‘Driver Area’ section of this website

Please have the following information to hand when calling DriverLine:

  • Your vehicle registration no.
  • Current vehicle mileage
  • Three suitable dates (if you wish to take advantage of a collection and delivery service then please book at least seven days in advance)
  • Your location on the three preferred dates
  • Details of any work/repairs required

How do I provide a mileage update?

It is important that we receive these updates to help us manage your vehicle and its contract and to provide accurate service date forecasting.

Can I take my vehicle abroad?

If you intend to travel abroad using your lease vehicle you will require a ‘Vehicle on Hire’ (VE103B) certificate which entitles you to drive the vehicle in any EU member state.

As Days Fleet are the registered keeper you must have our permission to take the vehicle abroad, without this document you are liable to have the vehicle impounded.

You must apply for your VE103 at least 10 working days before you travel. You can request your VE103 certificate by:

  • Visiting the ‘Taking your vehicle abroad’ section of our Driver App

Travel Packs are also available for sale.

Whilst driving abroad it is your responsibility to make sure you comply with the current requirements of the country you are visiting.

How do I download the Driver App?

Our Driver App is available for iOS (Apple), Android and Windows devices and is available to download free of charge.

To download the App, please visit our Driver App page on your mobile device and click on the appropriate download option.

Alternatively, search for “Days Fleet” on the App Store, Google Play Store or Windows Store.

Can I buy my vehicle at the end of the contract?

If you, a member of your family, or a friend, are interested in buying your vehicle at the end of its term, please make enquiries before you return the vehicle to us.

Any person known to you can buy the vehicle and benefit from acquiring the vehicle for a trade price and an added bonus of already knowing the vehicle.

What is AdBlue®?

Some vehicle models are now fitted with AdBlue® advanced emissions control equipment that cleans exhaust gases to beyond current legislation levels.

AdBlue® is a non-toxic, non-flammable, biodegradable urea and water-based liquid additive that processes the gases in a car’s exhaust system to remove harmful nitrogen oxide emissions.  AdBlue® may also offer a small fuel economy advantage by optimising the engine’s combustion process.

The AdBlue® solution is stored in a tank positioned near the car’s conventional fuel tank, accessed through a screw-cap usually found next to the car’s fuel filler nozzle.  The system works by injecting minute amounts of the solution into the exhaust system when the engine is running.

Am I responsible for AdBlue®?

It is the responsibility of the driver to ensure AdBlue® is kept topped up and to pay any costs associated with doing so.

Days Fleet treat AdBlue® as a consumable, similar to fuel and does not form any part of a maintenance contract unless specifically agreed.

It is important that levels of AdBlue® are maintained as the vehicle will not start if the tank ever runs empty.

Can I get a grant for a plug-in vehicle charge point?

Funding is being made available by the government to home owners, local authorities and train operating companies to allow plug-in vehicle drivers to benefit from charge points:
